How-to-Measure – Outside Recess Wooden Blinds

How to measure for Venetian Wooden Blinds that will be fitted onto the wall outside of the window recess.

1. First, decide on how far out you would your Wooden Blind to sit – please leave at least 5cm for either side and the bottom edge with 10cm for the top.
2. Next, measure the width by deciding how far on either side of the window you would like your blind to sit.
3. Finally, measure the drop by measuring from the top of where you want the headrail to start to the bottom of where you want the blind to end.

If you have a sill that comes out further than 5cm, use this as your finishing point, and be mindful of any obstructions such as radiators.

Tip! For better light elimination, make the blind at least 5cm cm wider than the recess on each side.
